Many way:
by using "php.ini" file or via .htaccess file . Specially MAX INPUT VARS and MAX EXECUTION TIME values are important which are lower in your case , so better to increase them .

honestly, i don't know how to find that. i checked the config.php in the styles folders but that isn't there

Upload both the "js" & "styles" folder in your domain's root directory . . .
The .XML files are theme files, you need to import those files by visiting this format url:
https://www.yourdomain.com/admin.php?styles/import
