How to hide link from humans but not from bots

I want to add a hidden category link on the homepage visible to bots but not humans.

There are quite a few ways, like Off-Screen hidden, or opacity to zero..etc

You can hide such a link with the css property 'display:none' or 'margin-left:-3000px', but it's well-known that Google doesn't like such practices. Why not simply have the link in your sitemap, which humans almost never visit, but bots do!
