It does require null in my opinion activate_license() function in class-leco-cp-settings.php otherwise will phone home to the authors. example might be for leco_cp_license_status to be "valid", causing activate_license() to just "return;" or better yet just don't allow the hook in the first place, so comment out like this:
// add_action( 'admin_init', array( $this, 'activate_license' ) );
