STOP! using Google Maps API, there are better options!

Google's MAP API could be good enough but it could be expensive and if you are using a php script, app or CMS that has no alternatives available, you'll stuck in the long run.

There are free and cheap alternatives for this, but sadly not many devs are using on their systems. The best we can do as users is to ask for your desired MAP, for example in the comments section for an item in codecanyon or themeforest, letting the author know that there are free and cheaper options!

MAPS:​

• mapbox.com (free plan + cheaper than google + openStreetMap)
  • CC required for free access, tested with a VCC with 0 dollars in it from Zinli (latin america service). I think it could work with a https://stealths.net/ card.
• https://www.openstreetmap.org/ (free)
• https://leafletjs.com/ (free open source JS)
  • plugins - integrations - laravel example
• https://maplibre.org/ (thanks @wooyihoo )

You can't ignore google maps platform as it has the most complete data as a maps services.

There are other maps platforms but not as complete as Google maps.

Right, in my case, I'm starting to separate all my services, apps and software away from google and MS as much as possible. They can offer me 9999 TB of free mail/cloud storage, that doesn't matter anymore. Privacy / transparency is much better, at least for me

Anyways, I think is always good to let ppl know that there are alternatives, not as complete, sure, but hey
