how make checkbox to be button ?

Hello guys.
Im using wordpress and search and filter pro. Im wanna checkbox to make like a button. But its hard to make. Whit css im make like a button but checkbox its not hide still show and not have indication this button its activate or not. Im read forum whit div how to make custom its easy to make but whit search and filter its more hard cuz have so many id and class not have div.
Can any who its more hardcore whit css to help ?
