If you do not want to restrict post content with user roles, just use restricted shortcode like this:

Based on user’s feature request, buddypress membership plugin 4.7.0 strart to support wordpress restricted content by restriction shortcode, you can use wordpress restriction shortcode like this: [restriction]]hi, we are private content[[/restriction], you can insert it in any wordpress post or pages… etc, when guest users view your wordpress post, we will potect wordpress restricted content , guest users will only see “Sorry, this is restricted content, please log in first” with the wordpress log in link, if you set up your register url / landing page in buddypress membership back end, we will use your register url / landing page url as the log in link, if you did not set up register url / landing page, we will use the standard default wordpress login url as the log in link, once the user logged in your wordpress site, they will see the content of these restricted content.
